Methods of teaching French at the Language Courses "Montparnasse"

The Language School Montparnasse uses modern methods of teaching French (communicative, engaging in action) with an individual approach. Training is aimed at mastering practical speaking skills in the shortest possible time. According to this system the lessons are dynamic and diverse. During the classes our teachers conduct language games, imitation of different communication situations, presentations etc. Thus, a balanced preparation of all speech competences is provided: listening, speaking, reading and writing. We do not only teach the language at the French classes, but also the culture and traditions of France and other French-speaking states.

Classes are held in groups (usually around 4-6 people), mini-groups (2-3 people) and individually. The educational module of classes in groups lasts 2-2.5 months depending on the chosen pace (there are 2 options for the duration of a group lesson: 1.5 or 2 hours). Individual lessons are usually planned by blocks of 5 or 10 lessons (duration of an individual lesson: 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours). For children, lessons are held mainly for 45 minutes, 1 hour or 1.5 hour (depending on age and chosen pace). Children work in the youngest group (5-9 years old), middle (10-13 years old) and senior (14-17 years old).

There are students of different age (adults and children) at the Montparnasse French School. Teaching takes place according to a standardised program. Preparation for the international exams DELF, DALF, TEFAQ is also carried out at Montparnasse. Each Montparnasse teacher is specialised in specific categories of students depending on their age and level of French language proficiency. Methodists of the Montparnasse Language School perform a demandful selection of French teachers, who start working with students only after the appropriate internship and attendance of the lessons by more experienced colleagues.
